Der DFM gratuliert Programmbeauftragten Prof. Dr. Markus Ogorek zum Universitätspreis 2024

Im Rahmen des Jahresempfangs des Rektors am 7. Mai 2024 wurde dem Programmbeauftragten Prof. Dr. Markus Ogorek, LL.M (Berkeley) der Universitätspreis in der Kategorie "Lehren und Lernen" verliehen. Der Universitätspreis würdigt und fördert jährlich herausragende Persönlichkeiten an der Universität zu Köln, die sich insbesondere durch ihr Engagement ausgezeichnet haben. Der DFM gratuliert Herrn Prof. Dr. Ogorek ganz herzlich zu diesem besonderen Verdienst. Sommerfest der Rechtswissenschaftlichen Fakultät

Wir freuen uns sehr, dass das Sommerfest der Rechtswissenschaftlichen Fakultät, welches sich jedes Jahr zu Recht großer Beliebtheit erfreut, wieder stattfinden kann und so die Tradition weitergeführt wird. Zu kalten Getränken, Würstchen, veganen Gemüsespießen und einem regen Austausch lädt die Rechtswissenschaftliche Fakultät Studierende, Professorinnen und Professoren, Beschäftigte, Alumni und Freunde der Fakultät ein. Den beständigen Erfolg unseres Festes verdanken wir an erster Stelle der Rechtsanwaltskanzlei GÖRG, die freundlicherweise auch in diesem Jahr für das leibliche Wohl unserer Gäste sorgt. Das diesjährige Sommerfest findet am 26. Juni 2024 von 18:00 bis 22:00 Uhr hinter dem Hörsaalgebäude statt. Wir freuen uns schon auf einen fröhlichen Abend bei hoffentlich gutem Wetter!

On October 24, 2023, DFM Alumnus Dr. Tim Maxian Rusche delivered his inaugural lecture on "The Other Turn of the Times: How the European Green Deal is Changing the Law."

"Le DFM discute" at CMS Hasche Sigle

The annual discussion round "Le DFM discute" will take place on 23.06.2023 at the offices of the law firm CMS Hasche Sigle in Cologne. Following the presentation on a German-French doctoral thesis by a DFM alumni, a get-together will take place at the law firm with many lawyers and former DFM students.

DFM Equipe at the Sachs Law Soccer Cup

Under the banner of the DFM, the title of the annual Sachs Law Soccer Cup will be tackled this year. On 24.06.2023, following the soccer tournament, a barbecue will be held by the DFM clubs to end the summer semester in a cozy atmosphere.

Graduation ceremony 30th cohort

On October 20 2023, the 30th cohort was graduated at the University of Cologne. In addition to the program officers Professor Dauner-Lieb and Professor Ogorek, the Consul General of the French Republic Dr. Etienne Sur also accompanied the students in a festive atmosphere.

Meeting with ECJ Judge von Danwitz in Luxembourg

On invitation of the German judge at the ECJ, Cologne law professor and DFM program officer, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.. Thomas von Danwitz, and thanks to the organization of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Bernhard Kempen, DFM students will have the opportunity to travel to Luxembourg on May 22, 2023, and get to know the ECJ up close in a top-class program.

Meeting in Brussels

The JDFR is organizing a multi-day meeting in Brussels in March 2023 for DFM students to visit the European Commission, the European Parliament and the law firm CMS DeBacker. DFM students will be given an insight into current European law topics as well as the work in Brussels and the opportunity to exchange with DFM alumni.

60 years celebration Elysée Treaty

The DFM associations, the institut français, La DenkFabrik and the KStW have invited on January 24, 2023. In addition to Dr. Mario Kramp, the Consul General of France, Dr. Etienne Sur, the program officer and President of the Constitutional Court NRW, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Barbara Dauner-Lieb and DFM student Theresia Crone have discussed Franco-German perspectives. The livestream can be found via the Youtube hyperlink.

Workshop ECJ language service

On 02 December 2022, Dr. Ivo Groß from the Language Unit of the Court of Justice of the European Union gave a lecture for the DFM students followed by a panel discussion and a workshop on the challenges of working in multiple languages. DFM students were able to learn about this exciting professional field and exchange ideas with EU experts.

29th Promo "Louise Weiss" graduated

On October 21, 2022, the ceremonial graduation of the 29th class of the German-French program ("DFM-Jurastudium") took place. After a musical introduction and greetings from the Cologne and Paris program officers, the promo named "Louise Weiss" was able to listen to a ceremonial speech by the President of the Cologne Higher Regional Court.
